Regional Sales Manager – New York
Alta Material Handling is looking to add a Regional Sales Manager based in the New York area.
Responsibilities- You will have responsibility for implementing and executing a successful sales strategy in the region.
- Drive sales growth while maintaining gross profit objectives.
- Recruit, train and manage territory equipment sales reps across New York with travel required 30% of the time.
- Develop a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
- Have knowledge of warehouse products sold.
- Responsible for the performance and development of the Account Managers.
- Prepare action plans by individuals and by the team for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
- Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
- Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
- Conduct one-on-one reviews with all Account Managers to build more effective communication, understand training and development needs, and provide insight for improvement of Account Manager's sales and activity performance.
- Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding performance.
- Provide timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
- Maintain accurate records of all pricing, sales, and activity reports submitted by Account Managers.
- Assist Account Managers with proposal presentations and RFP responses.
- Assist Account Managers in preparation of proposals and presentations.
- Ensure all Account Managers meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes.
- Set examples for Account Managers in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
- Conduct regular coaching and counseling with Account Managers to build motivation and selling skills.
- Maintain contact with clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Proactively use and reinforce with the Account Managers the proactive use of eCRM as our CRM vehicle.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5 years B2B sales management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent required.
- Warehouse product experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fast‑paced, high‑energy individual with an aggressive sales style.
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record and automobile insurance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and related software.
$100,000+ plus bonuses. This range is regarding base pay only and does not include benefits and potential bonuses. Overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographical location, skillset, education, and experience.
