the Team

The Biovia Solution Sales Specialist team members are product/domain experts who create and manage sales opportunities across the Biovia portfolio. They work closely with Client Executives, Account Executives, and cross‑functional partners in R&D, Marketing, Business Development, and Professional Services to drive incremental revenue and shape the market narrative for Biovia solutions. This role reports to a Sr. Director of Biovia Solution Sales.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve half‑year and annual sales targets.
  • Collaborate with Pre‑Sales, Marketing, Product Strategy, Product Management, and Professional Services to build a pipeline and close deals.
  • Partner with Client Executives and Account Executives to present the value of Biovia’s solutions directly to prospects and customers.
  • Prospect, secure meetings, and oversee Biovia opportunities through the full sales cycle.
  • Support and manage quarterly Field Marketing activities (webinars, conference attendance/presentation, customer and industry events).
  • Assist marketing teams in establishing quarterly Product Marketing activities (white papers, press releases, SEO, case studies).
  • Create market demand through seminars, webinars, social media, and industry event participation.
  • Contribute to the design of talk tracks for email and cold‑call campaigns used by you and the sales team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or Science (required). Focused discipline or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Laboratory, Manufacturing, and Quality functions in pharma/biotech/CDMO companies.
  • Software or SaaS sales experience in the biopharma, life sciences, or CDMO industry.
  • 3+ years of successful sales experience in Lab, Manufacturing, or Quality within Life Science companies.
  • Ability to prospect, secure meetings, lead the sales process, deliver presentations, proposals, and close deals.
  • Experience managing relationships with senior‑level clients and partners.
  • Strong qualification and discovery skills to identify scientific and business value for clients.
  • Comfort with sustained business travel of up to 50% (variable by quarter).
  • Proficiency in sales forecasting, pipeline management, quarterly goal accomplishment, and territory plan development.
Compensation & Benefits

Base pay is part of Medidata’s Total Rewards. Many sales positions are eligible for commission under applicable plan documents, and non‑sales roles may receive annual bonuses. Benefits include medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401(k) matching, family leave, flexible paid time off, and 10 paid holidays per year. Compensation for this role is expected to range between $116,250 and $155,000, comprising base salary and target bonus.
