Role Description

The Quotation Specialist role is a full-time, on‑site position based in New York, NY. The person in this role prepares accurate and timely price quotations for lighting and electrical products, using product catalogs, vendor price lists, and customer specifications. Daily tasks include reviewing project drawings and bills of materials, clarifying requirements with sales representatives or customers, and selecting appropriate product configurations.

The Quotation Specialist collaborates with vendors to obtain pricing and lead times, analyzes margins, and ensures quotes align with company pricing policies. The role also involves maintaining quotation records in the internal system, updating prices as needed, and supporting the sales team with revisions, alternatives, and follow‑up on open opportunities.

Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret specifications, drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Familiarity with electrical or lighting products, or experience in an electrical/electronic manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Proficiency with office software (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, email) and ability to learn quotation and ERP/CRM systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact clearly with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy in pricing and data entry, and strong organizational skills to manage multiple quotes and deadlines.
  • Ability to work on‑site, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and handle a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive workload.
  • Customer‑focused mindset with problem‑solving skills and willingness to propose alternatives or value‑engineered solutions.
  • Prior experience in quoting, inside sales, or estimating is preferred; a background in electrical engineering, construction, or related technical field is a plus.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
