Make Your Mark

As a business development representative (BDR), you will develop demand for Black Line’s products and solutions and convey the value of the platform to prospective clients, directly influencing the company’s success.

You will participate in an intensive 6‑week training program that provides a foundation for sales processes and programs.

Within 90 days, you will learn to prospect, cold‑call, and communicate the platform’s value to technical finance and accounting audiences.

Responsibilities
  • Qualify marketing-generated leads from campaigns, website programs, conferences, and other channels.
  • Discover and qualify meetings with prospective clients through outbound prospecting into target contacts and organizations.
  • Work with prospects to understand and align their needs with Black Line’s solutions.
  • Handle software capability questions in the sales qualification process.
  • Achieve and exceed weekly, monthly, and quarterly metrics such as appointments, qualified leads, and new contacts.
  • Assist and coordinate with marketing campaigns as necessary.
  • Manage prospecting status, data integrity, and weekly forecasting in  and Outreach.
  • Articulate the complex B2B sales cycle.
  • Learn and use tools such as , Linked In Sales Navigator, Outreach, Hoopla, Zoom Info, Discover Org, Inside View, Clear Slide, and Kapost.
  • Understand the technical landscape of our target audience.
  • Call into a greenfield market that has more than 90% total available market.
  • Handle objections on the phone and via email.
  • Engage in an exciting, fast‑paced culture on the team and company wide.
  • Converse with C‑suite executives and Fortune 500 companies.
  • Participate in corporate all‑hands meetings for a growing public company.
  • Contribute to new marketing campaigns and ideas.
Requirements
  • Self‑starter, motivated, driven, and focused on achieving goals.
  • Always brings the A‑game and does not settle for average performance.
  • Comfortable in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment.
  • Can think on feet during conversations and answer unexpected questions with ease.
  • Willing to learn, be coached, and adapt easily to change.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to professionalism with solid organizational skills.
  • At least 1 year of sales or cold‑calling experience.
  • Some accounting knowledge, such as CPA eligibility or audit experience.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: USD $48,800.00 per year – USD $61,000.00 per year.

Pay Transparency Statement:
Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant’s prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location.

In addition to base pay, Black Line offers short‑term and long‑term incentive programs, as well as a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
