About the Role
This is a ground-floor business development role inside a growing SaaS startup focused on healthcare. You will be the first dedicated person owning the outbound pipeline, working directly with the founders to generate new opportunities and drive trials. This is not a passive role; you are expected to build a pipeline from scratch through outreach, follow-up, and persistence.
The environment is lean, fast-paced, and highly autonomous. The product is strong, the market is defined, and there is real demand. Must be polished, self-motivated, comfortable with outreach, and able to generate consistent activity across calls, email, Linked In, and events. This is a role for someone who takes ownership, moves quickly, and does not wait to be told what to do.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Pipeline Creation
- Proactively source and engage nursing home groups and healthcare operators
- Build and maintain a consistent pipeline through cold calling, email, and Linked In outreach
- Identify and connect with decision-makers (VPs, Directors, Clinical leaders)
- Research target accounts and uncover opportunities
Sales Execution
- Book and run discovery conversations with prospects
- Clearly explain the product and position its value
- Move prospects from first touch → demo → trial
- Follow up consistently to push deals forward and prevent drop-off
Process Ownership
- Own and track all outreach activity and pipeline progress
- Maintain organized notes, follow-ups, and next steps
- Work directly with founders on messaging, strategy, and execution
- Help refine outbound processes and improve conversion over time
Field & Relationship Development
- Attend industry conferences and trade shows (1–2x per month)
- Build relationships with prospects both remotely and in person
- Maintain light contact with clients post-close when needed
Qualifications
- 1–5 years of experience in sales, business development, or client-facing roles
- Strong communication skills with a polished and professional presence
- Comfortable with outbound outreach (calls, email, Linked In)
- Self-starter who can work independently and take initiative
- Organized with strong follow-up and attention to detail
- Ability to handle rejection and stay consistent with activity
- Tech-comfortable (CRM, Linked In, outreach tools)
Preferred (not required):
