Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- The Sales Specialist provides proactive sales engagement and reactive/inquiry response with luxury retail travel agencies and preferred corporate markets in support of the Director of Sales.
- Maximize total room nights and revenue potential for Park Lane New York across Corporate
- Consortia and Transient Luxury Leisure market segments, focusing on retention and acquisition. - Work in a team and report to the Director of Sales & Marketing with a dotted line to the Director of Luxury and Corporate Sales to achieve targets/budget.
- Build relationships with B2B travel partners, sell guest rooms and suites, conduct site inspections, travel as needed, and set business strategies and forward-thinking tactics.
- Prepare and present effective proposals for luxury travel agency inquiries; enter reservations in support of the Reservations Manager when needed.
- Maintain well-organized documentation and reports.
- Participate in sales meetings, events and other staff meetings; work with the sales and catering teams.
- Sell a luxury hotel experience and develop, implement, and monitor the hotel’s sales strategy to achieve and exceed forecasted revenue targets in Rooms, Food & Beverage and other revenue-generating departments.
- Manage hotel sales contacts and the achievement of the revenue plan.
- Attend major travel, trade and corporate functions and conduct sales trips as priorities dictate (may include weekends and evening events).
- Retain and acquire corporate business; build and maintain strong client relations and develop accounts to increase market share.
- Maximize yield potential for corporate business; work with leadership to maximize business levels.
- Interact with B2B customers for feedback on product quality and service; coordinate with operations to meet guest needs.
Annual Salary: $65,000 - $70,000
Qualifications- University qualifications in Business, Hospitality or Sales and Marketing.
- Minimum 2 years sales experience in a four- or five-star hotel or similar fast-paced environment.
- Engaged and results-driven with strong influencing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
- Proven sales experience with the ability to lead, guide and achieve personal revenue goals.
- Highly motivated, solutions-oriented self-starter with adaptable teamwork styles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into profitable action.
- Strategic orientation with the know-how to problem solve under pressure.
- Ability to create a positive first impression with five-star grooming standards.
- Refined verbal and written communication skills.
- Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training.
