Estimator
Representing a leader in the industry, we are searching for an experienced Estimator specializing in the Door and Hardware industry. The Estimator gathers information for hollow metal, hardware, wood doors, specialties, and other products, as required from architectural plans and specifications, to provide pricing to customers in a quotation or formal proposal.
Specific Responsibilities• Maintains an estimate log and the Project Estimate folder
• Performs an accurate takeoff of the material quantities from plans and specifications
• Reads and comprehends all applicable and related specifications sections and drawings
• Adheres to code compliance and calls deviations to the attention of the salesperson
• Request quotations from vendors while considering the impact of project timeline
• Reviews vendor quotes for accuracy and compliance with specifications
• Prices the quantities using vendor quotes and best pricing as applicable
• Provides accurate project specific freight cost
• Submits estimated cost to salesperson for mark up and sell prices
• Prepares formal proposal including all appropriate inclusions and exclusions to customers bidding on project
• Follows all company guidelines for inclusions and exclusions in the proposal
• Follows company policy and procedures to include accurate project specific Freight cost
• Maintains existing relationships with vendors and customers
• Maintains up to date knowledge of industry products and technologies available to sell
• Maintains competency in computer software used in preparations of estimates
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management
College degree preferred in Construction Mgmt., Architecture or related field can be substituted for experience requirement
Skills/Abilities• Strong competency in computer software and project knowledge
• Basic accounting knowledge
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Good communication skills
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel maybe expected. This is an in-office, full-time position. Strong comp & benefits Salary commensurate with experience
