Position SummaryThe primary responsibility will be to manage and grow Actylis’ full portfolio of excipients, APIs, and intermediates at new and existing customers and to expand and advance the pipeline projects with assigned customers. The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for handling a portfolio of small to medium-sized customers, building strong relationships with customers in efforts to maintain current business and develop further sales.
They will be the lead point of contact for all key client matters, anticipate the customer’s needs, and collaborate internally to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Account Management – Manage and grow the company’s portfolio within established accounts while developing new business opportunities with new customers. Expand and advance the sales pipeline by working closely with R&D, business development, purchasing and operations teams. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers, ensuring long‑term partnerships. Identify and qualify new sales opportunities, leveraging market insights and customer interactions.
- Customer Engagement – Conduct regular virtual meetings and occasional face‑to‑face meetings with customers and document interactions in the CRM system. Understand customer needs (both explicit and implicit) and translate them into actionable business strategies. Act as the primary point of contact between clients and internal teams, including external partners.
- Sales Process – Participate in customer Request for Quote (RFQ) processes and provide product quotations and pricing strategies. Negotiate pricing and contracts while ensuring profitability per quote. Address and resolve customer issues and complaints with support from Customer Service, Logistics and Quality teams. Submit and maintain an accurate annual sales budget per account. Manage opportunity pipelines and sales forecasts within the CRM system.
- Strategic Planning – Provide monthly sales reports, tracking sales and gross profit against budget targets. Maintain an up‑to‑date pipeline of opportunities, highlighting progress and challenges. Develop and execute an annual territory plan outlining key accounts, objectives and strategic initiatives.
The salary range for the position of Inside Sales Representative is $60,000 – $80,000 per year. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity and other factors as permitted by law.
Required Experience & Knowledge- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related scientific disciplines.
- Minimum 2 to 4 years’ experience in sales or business development of APIs, excipients and intermediates to pharmaceutical manufacturers.
- Proven results of delivering client solutions and meeting sales goals.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Proficient use of Teams and SharePoint.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently, project management skills.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, organizational skills and ability to work independently as well as a team player with a positive attitude.
