Account Manager, Wholesale

About the Role
Gruner & Co. is a family‑owned men’s outerwear manufacturer founded in 1949. We are seeking an apparel sales professional with experience selling outerwear, menswear, tailored clothing, or uniform accounts. You will sell across our Hart Schaffner Marx, Nick Graham, Gruner
1949, and Private Label divisions. Growth opportunity: A meaningful part of this role is the ground‑floor launch of Nick Graham Outerwear into wholesale and specialty channels. The right candidate will have the relationships and entrepreneurial instinct to build and develop this new division of a successful brand.
- Drive wholesale sales to retail and e‑tail accounts, including majors, discount chains, uniform distributors, and specialty stores, through in‑person and virtual presentations.
- Lead the wholesale launch of Nick Graham: identify target accounts, develop opening‑order strategies, and build the brand’s retail presence from the ground up.
- Manage and grow existing accounts across Hart Schaffner Marx, Gruner
1949, and Private Label while identifying new business opportunities. - Represent Gruner & Co. at trade shows including Chicago Collective, Northwest Buyers, and NAUMD; consistent show attendance is required.
- Maintain disciplined, consistent follow‑up with all accounts by phone and email.
- Collaborate with design, production, fulfillment, and accounting teams to relay product performance and customer feedback.
- 3+ years of experience in apparel sales, with a demonstrable track record of account growth.
- Relationships with buyers in outerwear, menswear, tailored clothing, or uniform channels.
- Experience opening new accounts or launching brands into new channels is a strong plus.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing, and inventory/order management systems.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Base salary commensurate with experience and existing book of business.
- Performance bonus tied directly to personal sales growth.

Compensation: $85,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience and existing book of business.
