Position Overview

The Medicare Sales Representative II provides greater access to health insurance by educating and assisting Medicare individuals. The representative distributes educational materials, arranges health screenings, facilitates enrollment, supports continued coverage, and assists with recertification. They serve as an on‑site liaison at hospitals, senior centers and community events.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Identify prospective enrollees and determine eligibility for Metro Plus Health ’s Medicare product.
  • Understand and apply policies and procedures related to Medicare product disclosures, enrollment, and disenrollment.
  • Conduct home visits and personalized appointments to complete the enrollment process.
  • Market the Medicare line of business on-site at designated locations.
  • Explain covered and non‑covered benefits, exclusions, and exemptions to potential members.
  • Educate enrollees on all plan aspects and answer feature and benefit questions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of marketing activity guidelines set by regulatory agencies and provide required documentation.
  • Complete applications and field reports (e.g., Presumptive Eligibility reports, time sheets, expense reports) accurately and timely.
  • Collaborate with Outreach Representatives, Customer Service representatives, and other staff to resolve member concerns regarding complaints, enrollments, or disenrollments.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with facility and site staff, community and provider organizations, and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist members with health care, transportation needs, and related services.
  • Participate in telemarketing/outreach efforts and report production metrics.
  • Build a local community presence to generate enrollments.
  • Make presentations to senior audiences and large groups.
  • Complete annual Medicare training requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED; college degree or coursework preferred.
  • 3–5 years of sales/customer relations experience required.
  • Experience in Medicare sales preferred.
  • Public speaking experience.
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Highly motivated and goal‑directed.
  • Ability to work in a multi‑ethnic, multi‑cultural environment.
  • Sensitivity to chronic conditions and disabilities.
  • Bi‑lingual and multi‑lingual abilities a plus.
  • Self‑confident, independent thinker with a professional appearance.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to coordinate and execute sales events.
  • Willingness to assist with departmental projects when needed.
  • Computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Microsoft Teams).
Licensure And/or Certification Required
  • Valid NYS Life, Accident and Health Agent License at employment and throughout tenure, with timely renewal and continuing education.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license is a plus.
