Location: New York
Position Overview
Porto Vino is seeking a highly motivated Sales Representative to grow our New York business. This role is primarily focused on the On-Premise market, developing relationships with the region’s best restaurants, hotels, wine bars, country clubs and hospitality groups. The ideal candidate is passionate about wine, obsessed with opening new accounts, and excited by the opportunity to help build premium brands—not simply sell cases.
This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing company where individual impact is highly visible and career progression can be significant.
- Build Porto Vino’s presence across New York with a primary focus on the On-Premise channel.
- Develop long-term partnerships with restaurants, hotels, private clubs, retailers and key decision-makers.
- Execute our strategy of making Porto Vino wines the preferred wines by the glass in leading hospitality accounts.
- Identify and aggressively pursue new business opportunities while expanding existing relationships.
- Conduct wine tastings, staff trainings and educational events to increase product knowledge and brand advocacy.
- Manage a structured sales pipeline using CRM and sales data.
- Analyze account performance and identify opportunities to improve distribution, depletions and profitability.
- Represent Porto Vino and our producers with professionalism, energy and authenticity.
- Consistently achieve or exceed sales objectives and KPIs.
- Minimum 3 years of successful wine sales experience in New York.
- Existing relationships within the New York City hospitality community.
- Strong hunter mentality with a demonstrated ability to open new accounts.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized, self-motivated and accountable.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-growing entrepreneurial environment.
- Passion for premium French and Italian wines.
- Experience with fine dining and luxury hospitality accounts is highly preferred.
- WSET, CMS or similar certification is a plus but not required.
- Love winning new business.
- Believe premium brands are built one account at a time.
- Bring positive energy every day.
- Care about relationships as much as results.
- Want to grow with the company over the long term.
- Highly competitive commission program with uncapped earning potential
- Performance-based incentives and bonus opportunities
- 401(k) with company match
- Ongoing education with some of France and Italy’s finest producers
- Real opportunities for career growth as Porto Vino expands across the United States.
