Position: Coatings Sales Representative - New York
Location: New York

Position Overview

We are seeking a driven Sales Representative to manage and expand business throughout the Northeast territory, with an emphasis on the New York metropolitan area. This role is responsible for strengthening relationships with existing customers while identifying and securing new business opportunities to drive territory growth and long-term profitability.

The ideal candidate is a motivated sales professional who enjoys building new business, developing lasting customer partnerships, and delivering technical solutions within the industrial coatings or fireproofing market.

Compensation

A flexible compensation package is available and may include either a commission-only structure or a base salary that transitions to a performance-based commission plan after approximately two years.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, a technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least five years of successful outside sales or business development experience within the protective coatings, industrial coatings, or fireproofing industry.

Preferred

  • Experience selling industrial products or technical solutions.
  • Industry certifications, including NACE, are considered an asset.
  • Existing contacts, customer base, or prior sales experience within the NY/NJ region strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a territory growth strategy that increases market share and revenue.
  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers.
  • Meet regularly with contractors, distributors, engineers, asset owners, and other key decision-makers to understand project needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
