Overview
Insight Global is looking for an Energy Sales Representative to join the team of a leading energy engineering firm in support of their commercial energy efficiency programs in the New York City area. This role supports the delivery of utility‑sponsored energy efficiency initiatives by working directly with commercial customers to identify opportunities that reduce energy consumption and operating costs.
This position will conduct in‑person outreach within an assigned market area, perform onsite energy assessments, and educate customers on available utility incentives and program offerings. In addition to driving program participation, this role functions in a consultative, sales‑engineering capacity, helping customers understand their building infrastructure, energy usage, and operational challenges.
The Energy Sales Representative will identify high‑value paths forward for customers by recommending tailored energy conservation solutions and services. This role requires a problem‑solving mindset and the ability to clearly communicate technical and energy concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. The representative will maintain consistent communication to support customer engagement and program enrollment and is accountable for accurate field documentation, timely follow‑up, and overall program success through strong customer service and data quality.

- Communicate technical and energy concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
- 2–5 years of experience in outside sales, field outreach, or customer‑facing roles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support customer engagement
- Ability to conduct onsite assessments and explain energy efficiency concepts clearly
- Past experience in the energy/ infrastructure field is preferred (ex. Installation, sales, or technical roles)
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to accurately document activities and customer information
- Comfortable working independently in the field and meeting activity‑based performance goals
- Proficiency with mobile technology and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
