Sales Manager – Sleepwear & Sportswear
Juniors & Ladies Apparel | Off-Price Channel
Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to manage and grow an established Sleepwear and Sportswear business across major off-price retailers. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned apparel sales professional with 8+ years of experience, strong buyer relationships, and proven expertise selling into the off-price channel.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Juniors and Ladies apparel market, strong relationships with off-price buyers, and a demonstrated ability to maximize existing business while identifying opportunities for growth. Established accounts and buyer relationships are already in place; the primary focus is managing, servicing, and expanding existing business rather than building a book of business from scratch.
Key Responsibilities Account Management & Sales Growth- Manage and oversee assigned Sleepwear and Sportswear accounts, with a focus on major off-price retailers.
- Maintain strong, trusted relationships with buyers and key decision-makers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring exceptional customer service and execution.
- Develop and execute strategies to grow existing accounts, increase volume, and expand account penetration.
- Identify opportunities to introduce new programs, categories, and product offerings.
- Analyze account performance and develop strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
- Manage seasonal sales plans, forecasts, pipelines, and account goals.
- Conduct buyer meetings, market appointments, line reviews, and presentations.
- Present product assortments, collections, concepts, and pricing based on customer needs and market opportunities.
- Negotiate pricing, programs, quantities, and delivery requirements while protecting company objectives.
- Manage the sales process from initial concept and product presentation through order placement and execution.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with buyers to ensure timely decisions and maximize opportunities.
- Stay closely connected to customer needs, competitive activity, and market trends.
- Partner with Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, Production, and Planning teams to develop product tailored to customer requirements.
- Communicate buyer feedback, product direction, pricing expectations, and market needs to internal teams.
- Oversee development and execution of customer‑specific programs, including samples, costing, approvals, and production timelines.
- Ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated and executed throughout the development and production process.
- Provide market and customer insights to help shape future product strategies and assortments.
- Monitor off-price market trends, competitive brands, pricing, and consumer demand.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing programs and increase account volume.
- Develop a strong understanding of each customer’s business, assortment strategy, and purchasing needs.
- Partner with leadership to establish and achieve annual sales goals.
- Represent the company at trade shows, market weeks, and customer events.
