Position Summary

The Director of Business Travel will lead the business transient sales strategy and execution for the New York City portfolio, with responsibility for driving revenue and market share across corporate negotiated, consortia, and other qualified transient segments. This highly proactive, hands-on sales role will focus on identifying and securing new business, expanding production from existing accounts, and strengthening relationships with corporate travel managers, travel management companies, agencies, and key industry partners.

Working closely with the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing, Revenue Management, and property sales teams, the Director of Business Travel will translate market intelligence, account performance, and demand trends into targeted sales strategies that position each hotel for the right business and maximize portfolio-wide opportunities.

Job Duties and Functions
  • Lead business travel sales strategy and execution across the assigned NYC hotels, with accountability for achieving established revenue, room night, ADR, and account production goals.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of new corporate business through proactive prospecting, market research, referrals, networking, industry relationships, and competitive intelligence.
  • Identify, qualify, solicit, negotiate, and close new corporate negotiated and qualified transient accounts based on each hotel’s positioning, demand needs, and revenue strategy.
  • Manage and grow existing corporate accounts by identifying opportunities to increase production, expand share, and introduce additional hotels within the portfolio.
  • Develop strategic account plans for key producers and target accounts, establishing clear production goals, sales activities, and opportunities for growth.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate travel managers, procurement leaders, travel management companies, consortia partners, agencies, and other business travel decision-makers.
  • Lead the annual corporate RFP process for assigned hotels, including account targeting, qualification, pricing collaboration, submissions, negotiations, follow-up, and acceptance tracking.
  • Partner closely with Revenue Management to evaluate account performance, pricing, need periods, production trends, and overall account value when developing negotiated rate strategies.
  • Analyze account production, market trends, travel patterns, competitive intelligence, and business travel demand to identify new opportunities and areas of risk.
  • Regularly evaluate negotiated account performance to ensure accounts are producing against expectations and recommend strategies for underperforming or high-potential accounts.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities across the NYC portfolio and strategically introduce clients to additional Rebel hotels based on travel patterns, location needs, price points, and traveler preferences.
  • Conduct proactive outside sales calls, client appointments, presentations, hotel tours, entertainment, and other relationship-building activities throughout the New York City market.
