Summary
The Commercial Wine Director leads the commercial development and execution for the U.S. wine portfolio, driving depletion growth, distributor engagement, market execution, and portfolio performance. This role manages a team of Wine Business Development Managers and serves as the primary link between commercial sales, brand teams, field marketing, and distributor partners to deliver sustainable growth.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute the annual commercial strategy, market prioritization, and resource allocation for the wine portfolio.
- Lead, coach, and set objectives for a team of Wine Business Development Managers, establishing KPIs and accountability measures.
- Build and maintain strong distributor relationships and collaborate with market leads on localized plans and activations.
- Oversee national and local programming, A&P investments, activation plans, execution standards, and evaluate program effectiveness and ROI.
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant industry experience.
- 10+ years of professional experience in sales and marketing within wine and spirits; 5+ years of people management experience.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, strategic thinking, strong analytical and financial performance management skills.
- Deep understanding of distributor operations and route-to-market execution, with excellent leadership, coaching, and communication abilities.
