Summary
The Assistant Director of Sales (ADOS) is a senior‑level sales leadership position reporting directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM). This role is designed for an experienced hospitality sales professional who is ready to expand their leadership capabilities and prepare for future advancement into a Director of Sales & Marketing role within a lifestyle hotel environment.
The ADOS is a key member of the hotel's commercial leadership team, balancing active selling and direct revenue production with the day‑to‑day leadership, development, and administrative oversight of the Sales department. The role requires a highly visible, full‑time onsite presence to coach and support the sales team, strengthen internal and external partnerships, and drive revenue through strategic account management, business development, and market expansion.
A primary responsibility of this position is to carry, personally own, and achieve a Major Market group sales quota.
The ADOS is expected to develop and convert Major Market group business, manage the related sales pipeline, and deliver measurable production against assigned group revenue goals while supporting the broader hotel commercial strategy.
Success in this role requires strong business acumen, disciplined sales execution, and the ability to foster trusted relationships across the hotel and in the marketplace. The ADOS serves as a bridge between commercial strategy and operational execution, ensuring alignment across teams and delivering exceptional client and guest experiences.
Primary Responsibilities
Major Market Group Sales & Revenue Generation
Carry and achieve an assigned Major Market group sales quota as a core individual production responsibility.
Personally prospect, solicit, negotiate, close, and grow Major Market group business in support of hotel revenue and profitability goals.
Build and actively manage a Major Market group sales pipeline, maintaining accurate account, opportunity, and forecast information in the hotel's CRM and sales systems.
Develop and execute account plans for high‑value group accounts, including strategic prospecting, client engagement, site inspections, presentations, entertainment, and follow‑up.
Provide strategic guidance on rate, date, space, concessions, and contract commitments for group opportunities.
Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts while developing, entertaining, and maintaining relationships with existing clients.
Assist the Sales team in achieving individual and annual revenue goals while remaining accountable for personal Major Market group production.
Develop compelling sales presentations, proposals, and site inspections that showcase the hotel's unique offerings.
Utilize brand promotions, marketing initiatives, sales programs, and available resources to maximize business opportunities.
Monitor travel industry trends, market conditions, and economic factors to identify opportunities and inform sales strategies.
Represent the hotel through community involvement, networking events, customer entertainment, industry organizations, trade shows, and business travel.
