POSITIONPURPOSE:
Cipriani is seeking a polished, motivated Catering Sales Manager to join our New York sales team. The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven sales professional who can generate new business, develop client relationships, and sell Cipriani’s iconic venues for corporate, nonprofit, social, and special events.
This is a full-time, in-office position. This role is not hybrid. The Sales Manager is also expected to be present at their events to maintain client relationships and ensure a seamless transition from sales to execution.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:- Generate new business through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, and industry relationships.
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporations, nonprofits, event planners, agencies, and other key decision-makers.
- Manage the sales process from initial inquiry through proposal, negotiation, contract, and deposit and execution.
- Conduct venue tours and present Cipriani’s venues and services to prospective clients.
- Build and maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently work toward revenue goals.
- Identify opportunities for repeat business and grow existing client relationships.
- Work closely with Event Management, Operations, Culinary, Finance, and Production teams to ensure client expectations are clearly communicated.
- Be present at events sold by the Sales Manager and maintain strong client relationships through execution.
SKILLS:
- At least 3 years of catering, hospitality, venue, or event sales experience
, preferably in New York City. - Proven ability to generate new business and close sales.
- Strong knowledge of the food and beverage industry, as well as event planning and execution.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
- Established industry relationships preferred.
- Professional, confident, and polished presence.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of the New York City events and hospitality market.
- Willingness to work evenings and attend events as required.
- We are looking for a true sales professional and self-starter who is comfortable prospecting, building relationships, asking for the business, and taking ownership of their results.
- The successful candidate will be expected to be visible, engaged, and present both in the office and at their events.
