The Role
The Senior Director, Membership Development is responsible for growing the membership by identifying, engaging, and enrolling qualified high-net-worth prospects. You'll build relationships with accomplished entrepreneurs and investors, represent the organization at the highest level, and convert interest into membership, working closely with group leaders and the broader membership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Own new member acquisition and consistently meet or exceed membership growth targets
- Source prospects through referrals, member networks, centers of influence (wealth managers, attorneys, bankers, family office advisors), events, and outreach
- Lead consultative conversations with prospective members to understand their goals and fit
- Guide prospects through the qualification, interview, and enrollment process
- Plan and host prospect events, dinners, and introductory meetings
- Partner with group chairs and member services to place new members in the right groups and support retention
- Maintain accurate pipeline and activity data in the CRM and report on results
- Serve as a polished ambassador for the organization in the investor and entrepreneur community
Qualifications
- 7+ years of business development, sales, or relationship management experience with high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth clients (e.g., private wealth, private banking, family office services, luxury membership, or executive networks)
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding growth or revenue targets
- Established network in the New York investor, entrepreneur, or wealth management community preferred
- Exceptional communication, presence, and discretion
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable with a consultative, relationship-driven sales cycle
- CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce)
- Bachelor's degree required
