Job Title: Bench Scientist II
Location: Pearl River, NY

Monday–Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
Compensation: $44-$48/hour
Type: Contract
The Bench Scientist II supports early‑stage vaccine development through routine analytical testing and assay execution within a laboratory environment. This role focuses on chromatographic and spectroscopic characterization of vaccine candidates, ensuring accurate data generation and documentation in compliance with GCLP standards. The ideal candidate is technically proficient in HPLC‑based methods, detail‑oriented, and comfortable operating in a regulated research setting.
Responsibilities- Perform routine sample preparation and analytical testing to support vaccine development programs
- Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation including HPLC/UPLC systems, gel electrophoresis platforms, and UV‑Vis and fluorescence spectrometers
- Execute assay verification, qualification, and routine analysis of vaccine candidates under supervision
- Analyze experimental data and document results using electronic laboratory notebooks in accordance with GCLP requirements
- Draft and revise laboratory methods, protocols, and technical reports with guidance
- Plan and organize daily laboratory workflow to meet assigned experimental timelines
- Support general laboratory operations including buffer preparation, reagent formulation, equipment maintenance, and laboratory waste management
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience, or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
- Experience with liquid chromatography techniques (HPLC/UPLC)
- Experience with spectroscopic techniques such as UV‑Vis and fluorescence
- Strong laboratory documentation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow established procedures in a regulated environment
Preferred:
- Experience with biomolecule characterization
- Familiarity with GCLP or regulated laboratory documentation practices
