Job Description Laboratory Responsibilities- Perform all duties relevant to the Quality Control Raw Materials – Utility Testing Analyst position.
- Conduct testing, including pH, conductivity, nitrate identification, total organic carbon, and appearance.
- Receive, handle, and dispose of samples.
- Calibrate or verify calibration of instruments and devices before use.
- Accurately record test results and report any quality anomalies.
- Maintain laboratory supplies, media, and reagents inventories; perform laboratory housekeeping as assigned.
- Use Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for samples.
- Ensure excellent customer service to clients.
- Participate in required training activities.
- Comply with all pertinent regulatory agency requirements.
- Train new employees on GMP‑related responsibilities when appropriate.
- Communicate findings and recommendations at group meetings.
- Participate in and/or lead cross‑functional teams to support optimal client services.
- Investigate team quality deviations independently and prevent reoccurrences in support of QC operations.
- Schedule tasks on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Maintain a strong work ethic and meet physical demands, including lifting objects of 25 lbs or more, walking and standing for extended periods, pushing or pulling carts and drums, and bending down or reaching for supplies.
- Support and monitor the performance of the team.
- Participate in new hire interviews.
- Support the onboarding process of new employees.
- Train other employees.
- Perform peer review of data.
- Assist in coordinating equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Disseminate administrative communications.
- Demonstrate and promote the company vision.
- Meet all quality and productivity metrics; demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration.
- Coordinate scheduling and allocation of responsibilities, including the new hire onboarding process.
- Coordinate training program.
The ideal candidate would possess:
- Laboratory experience.
- 1+ year of cGMP experience.
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with self‑motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude in a client‑facing environment.
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
- Proactively plan and multitask to maximize productivity.
- Experience with LIMS preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related science concentration, or equivalent directly related experience.
- 1+ years of previous leadership experience.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
- 10–15 minute phone interview with a regional recruiter.
- 45–60 minute virtual interview with a manager and/or group leader.
- 30 minute virtual interview with the site director.
This is a full‑time, on‑site position based on a first‑shift schedule (Sunday through Wednesday, 7 am–5:30 pm), with overtime required as needed. Candidates located within a commutable distance to Rensselaer, New York are strongly encouraged to apply.
