Medical Science Liaison - Oncology - NY
Territory to include Long Island, Upstate NY and one institution in NYC
What you will doIn this vital role, you will interact with oncology healthcare decision‑makers to communicate and advance the scientific platform aligned with Amgen's organizational goals and objectives. The MSL is responsible for:
- Communicating complex, cutting‑edge scientific information and research concepts to healthcare decision‑makers, including those at academic medical centers.
- Providing clinical and economic value information to payers and formulary decision‑makers.
- Identifying and training members of Amgen's speakers bureau and ensuring they are updated on new data.
- Responding to requests for investigator‑sponsored research proposals.
- Supporting Amgen‑sponsored research.
- Providing insights based on field interactions with healthcare thought leaders to Amgen partners.
- Providing scientific support, consistent with MSL compliance standards, for commercial, corporate accounts, and other matrix colleagues who may forward HCP inquiries.
- Cultivating scientific relationships between Amgen and fellows in training.
- Leading and/or participating on committees or project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics as delegated by MSL leadership.
- Seeking opportunities to support the MSL value proposition, achieve results, and set an example for others to follow by consistently demonstrating Amgen Values and Leadership Attributes.
- Demonstrating tact and professionalism when communicating and interacting with individuals.
- Exemplifying transparency and innovation through words, actions, and decisions.
- Doctorate degree, or
- Masters degree & 3 years of Medical Affairs experience, or
- Bachelors degree & 5 years of Medical Affairs experience.
- Pharm.
D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. (Other doctoral degrees are considered). - 3 or more years of experience in a medically related field, including 1 or more years focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research; post‑doctoral training such as residencies or fellowships is acceptable.
- Current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
- Oncology therapeutic area expertise.
