SUNY Niagara requires part‑time Biology Technical Assistants to support laboratory activities within the Business & STEM division. The pay rate is $22.52 per hour for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or lower and $24.76 per hour for candidates with a Master’s degree or higher.

Applications are reviewed continuously. Openings may or may not be available at a given time; candidates may not receive notification if the department does not have an opening.

• Prepare materials for undergraduate biology laboratories, including microbiology media, cultures, and chemical reagents.
• Set up and remove class materials weekly in laboratory classrooms.
• Maintain laboratory organization, including proper sterilization and disposal of wastes.
• Manage inventory, maintain records, and recommend purchasing.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained.

• Associate’s degree or higher in Biology, or a degree in a biology‑related field with at least six lab‑based science courses at the undergraduate or graduate level.
• Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills.

• Proficiency performing techniques in microbiology such as media preparation, culturing bacteria, protozoans, and/or fungi, sterilization, and waste disposal.
• Experience with autoclave operation, microscope maintenance, and other laboratory instruments.
