Biomedical Equipment Technician II – Channel Services
Rochester, NY

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate: $27–$33 per hour.
Company car provided for travel to client sites.

Responsibilities
  • Perform performance assurance inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and operation verification procedures on complex biomedical equipment.
  • Repair, install, and calibrate complex biomedical equipment.
  • Inform supervisors of repair status, inspection outcomes, and customer concerns.
  • Coordinate and document activities of subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians.
  • Maintain biomedical expertise through ongoing training and education.
  • Assist with service operations special projects.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of the equipment database, including inventory, performance schedules, and service history.
  • Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan and all regulatory agency compliances.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships; discuss equipment status and functionality with clinicians.
  • Provide a positive representation of Tri Medx services and embody core values.
  • Perform periodic inspections of current inventory status and complete security analysis for new equipment.
  • Perform incoming inspections to maintain accurate inventory of medical devices.
  • Make inventory recommendations.
  • Travel regionally up to 75% of the time to client hospital sites.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to use personal vehicle if required.
  • Complex computer skills, including system administration, error code interpretation, hard‑drive defragmentation, power‑supply replacement, and networking concepts.
  • Ability to integrate information from multiple sources and manage complex tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, written, verbal, and presentational communication skills.
  • Two‑year degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent experience; waiver available if Trained Certification or equivalent biomedical certification is obtained.
