Senior Scientist -Product Support

• Applies scientific method and experimental design in problem solving. Uses scientific expertise to provide solutions to a broad range of difficult situations; solutions are original, thorough and practical. Consistently communicates progress status to supervisor.
• Performs complicated or demanding assignments requiring specialized expertise; may offer creative and inventive solutions.
• Defines short- and mid‑term objectives and implements a plan to accomplish objectives.
• May direct the work of other personnel.
• Maintains accurate, precise, and legible laboratory notebooks. Frequently communicates status updates across the organization. Maintains good documentation. Writes reports and technical summaries. May represent the company to outside organizations.
• Continually broadens professional expertise through comprehensive knowledge of scientific literature and competitive products.
• Handles broad assignments and objectives under minimal supervision. Accomplishes objectives.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Responsible for cross‑functional collaboration for technical solutions related to released (on‑market) product support as well as working with R&D during new product development, focusing on manufacturability and transfer into manufacturing. Frequently engages in inter‑organizational and external collaboration. May represent the company to outside organizations on technical issues.

The annual salary range Werfen reasonably expects to pay for the position is $110,000 to $130,000. Compensation is reasonably based upon multiple factors including education, relevant experience, skill set, knowledge, and specific needs of the business.

Education:

• Knowledge acquired through a Bachelor's, Master's Degree or Ph.D. Degree.

Experience:

• Bachelor's plus 7 years of relevant experience.
• Master's plus 5 years of relevant experience.
• Ph.D. plus 0‑1 year of experience.
• Hematology experience required, including expertise in blood analysis techniques, interpretation of hematologic data, and familiarity with relevant laboratory methodologies.

Skills & Capabilities:

• Technical leadership, problem‑solving skills, effective time management, team management, cross‑functional relationship building, and effective communication.
• Ability to apply scientific principles, theories, and concepts in the field of expertise.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must demonstrate the ability to perform all duties and responsibilities higher than Scientist III level.

Travel Requirements:

• Approximately 10% of time.
