Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Research Coordinator.
Job Responsibilities- Financial/Protocol Development:
Develops draft budget, monitors budget throughout trial, recommends staffing levels based on reviewed protocol, reviews sponsor‑proposed budget, prepares funding reports, identifies potential sponsors, participates in protocol development. - NYU Office of Clinical Trials/IRB:
Oversees submission of required documents to obtain approval from NYU Institutional Board (IRB) and NYU Office of Clinical Trials, secures signatures, forwards documents, monitors patient safety issues, oversees monthly enrollment statistics. - Reporting and Data Analysis:
Prepares progress reports and presentations to sponsors and regulatory agencies, recommends changes to data fields, analyzes data, prepares database, generates measurement reports for review. - Study Regulations:
Keeps up‑to‑date regulatory documents, assists with informed consent, monitors safety issues, reports to Principal Investigator and research team, reminds patients of visits and compliance. - Project Management:
Oversees planning/management of study activities and multiple projects, reviews progress, initiates actions to achieve objectives. - Grants:
Oversees preparation of grant applications, organizes required paperwork, coordinates resolution of issues and progress reports to sponsors. - Recruitment:
Manages recruitment process, screens potential patients for eligibility, gathers information, reviews screening process with Principal Investigator. - Decision Making and Problem Solving:
Evaluates information to make decisions, resolves complex situations, refers unresolved issues to supervisor. - Staff Guidance:
Provides guidance, training, leadership to less experienced staff, inputs into staff evaluations. - Other Duties:
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
To qualify you must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related discipline. Minimum of four years of progressively responsible related experience coordinating clinical/research trial studies. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to interface with all levels of management, work and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Ability to work within a team and independently, make decisions. Time management and multitasking skills. Strong understanding of coordination requirements associated with clinical/research trials. Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems, work well under pressure.
- Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) Certification is preferred (required in some disciplines).
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred.

The salary range for the role is $70,727.81 – $74,000.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range does not include bonuses, differential pay, or other compensation.
