Location: Minoa

Clean Harbors seeks an Environmental Field Chemist to support hazardous waste identification, packaging, and shipment within our Administrative & Support & Waste Management operations. In this field-based role, you will collect and analyze waste samples, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure full compliance with EPA, DOT, and state regulations. Working closely with operations and safety teams, you'll uphold Clean Harbors' safety-first culture while contributing to essential environmental protection and industrial service projects across diverse client sites.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, categorize, and label hazardous and non-hazardous waste samples from client sites according to EPA and DOT regulations.
  • Perform field chemical tests and basic analytical procedures to identify waste characteristics and compatibility.
  • Prepare, package, and manifest waste shipments in compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Operate and maintain field equipment, sampling instruments, and personal protective equipment safely and effectively.
  • Complete accurate logs, field reports, and electronic documentation for all waste handling and sampling activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers, drivers, and facility personnel to ensure efficient and compliant waste handling.
  • Participate in site safety meetings, hazard assessments, and job safety analyses before and during field work.
  • Support emergency response and spill cleanup activities as needed, including after-hours or weekend assignments.
  • Communicate clearly with customers on-site, explaining procedures and ensuring professional service delivery.
  • Adhere to Clean Harbors' safety-first culture, reporting hazards and near-misses and following all HSE policies.
