As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and assist staff and visitors with clear communication and customer service.

You will monitor assigned areas, report concerns promptly, and support access control as needed while living our agile, reliable, and innovative values through teamwork, care for people, and integrity.

• Provide customer service to clients at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site leadership and public agency partners as directed.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of assigned areas, building interiors, entrances, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor flow as assigned, verifying identification and/or authorization in accordance with site procedures and documenting irregularities.
• Complete routine reports and incident documentation, communicate observations to supervisors, and support special details and/or post assignments as directed by Allied Universal and site policy.

• A New York State Security Guard License is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
