What You’ll Do
  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors by carrying out post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and security-related concerns; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Control access points by verifying identification and authorization, maintaining visitor sign-in procedures, and directing guests to appropriate areas.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other site systems as assigned, and report irregular conditions in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate internal personnel and/or public responders when required.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written reports and electronic logs, with timely notification to supervision per site procedures.
  • Assist with traffic, parking, and delivery coordination as directed, including checking credentials for scheduled deliveries and routing to designated areas.
  • Perform basic inspections of doors, gates, and restricted areas to help identify unsecured conditions and report maintenance and/or security-related issues through the proper channels.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities such as drills, evacuations, and shelter-in-place actions as directed by site leadership and Allied Universal post instructions.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance while following Allied Universal standards, client-specific requirements, and confidentiality expectations.
Minimum Requirements
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
