Sales Engineer

As a Sales Engineer
, you will sit at the critical intersection of engineering, trust and safety, and customer success. You will be responsible for ensuring that as client processes 40,000+ daily transactions, the platform remains safe from fraud, collusion, and high-risk activity. This is a "player-coach" role (90% IC, 10% Lead) for a technical expert who thrives in a 0-to-1 startup environment.

• Guard the Platform: Moderate transactions for chargeback risk, seller/buyer fraud, and collusion. Make critical decisions on fund holds, refunds, and seller onboarding reserves.
• Build Infrastructure: Own the KYC (Know Your Customer) and payout flows. Your goal is to make these extensible via public APIs that can be embedded or linked.
• Content Moderation: Fight spam and scams within DMs to maintain a high-trust environment.
• Drive Innovation: Execute A/B experiments on checkout flows and KYC setups. Looking ahead, you will help architect Banking-as-a-Service, debit card issuance, and crypto bridging.
• Customer Interface: Act as a technical expert for high-value customers and partners, ensuring their technical needs are met with speed and clarity.

• Experience: 4–10 years as a Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or Customer Engineer within the Payments or Fintech sector.
• Pedigree: A Computer Science degree from a Top 10 program (e.g., Stanford, Waterloo, CMU). Experience at a top-tier payments company like Stripe or a YC-backed startup is highly preferred.
• Technical Mastery: Deep proficiency in Ruby on Rails
