Position

Security Officer - Emergency Room Patrol in New York, NY. You will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as healthcare and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a highly visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, support access control and badge activity when needed, and assist staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication and customer service.

You will work with an agile, reliable team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Pay and Schedule
  • Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour
  • Position Type: Part Time
  • Job Schedule: Mon 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM;
    Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
What You’ll Do
  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, corridors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas, observing and reporting suspicious activity and/or hazardous conditions.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, including checking credentials, supporting directions and way finding, and documenting unusual activity per site requirements.
  • Complete detailed reports for incidents, patrol activities, and security-related observations, and communicate information to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts for follow-up.
Minimum Requirements
  • Have a minimum of 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
