** Job Responsibilities
** The
** Security Officer
** is responsible for the safety and security of employees, customers, assets and facilities.
** Essential Duties
*** Control and diffuses potential problems and assists employees and guests in emergencies.
* Control access to the video lottery facility and restricted areas.
* Ensure proper Security is provided for all transfers of monies within the facility.
* Stand, sit, and walk post as assigned.
* Respond to back-up calls immediately.
* Prepare reports of significant activities.
* Maintain radio contact with base at all times during assigned shift.
* Attend periodic meetings and training sessions.
* Provide outstanding customer and employee service at all times.
* Present a neat and clean appearance at all times.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least fifty (50) pounds, and varied instances of standing/walking.

Skills:

* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests. Fluency in English required, second language a plus. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
* Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability:
* Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to decipher various reports and maintains reports upon request.

* Work/Educational Experience
** Must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school or equivalent diploma and have the ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the New York State Lottery regulations.
