As a Security Officer - Overnight Unarmed Patrol in New York, NY
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for service, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff, students, and visitors while delivering outstanding customer service.

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in an education location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting concerns to campus contacts and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, residence halls, common areas, and perimeter spaces to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and visitor traffic, assist with  and/or direction-giving, and help maintain orderly entry, exit, and crowd flow during classes and campus events.
• Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and patrol documentation, and communicate relevant information during shift briefings and/or post transitions.

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
