Security Officer Per Diem - Hours may vary Rotating Weekends/Weekdays/Holidays Starting Rate: 21.00 per hour The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of hospital patients, employees and visitors.# Responsible for securing the premises and personnel by patrolling the property; maintaining his/her post, monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment and access points. Prevent losses and damages by observing, detecting and reporting irregularities.
Communicates and works closely with all other departments in the coordination of departmental activities and requests.# Reacts in a flexible manner; may be required to de-escalate matters that may arise.# Would be eligible for Shift Differential pay for evening or overnight shifts.# Must have reliable transportation and be able to work the commitment of the position. Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma, Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice preferred.# 2.## #
Experience:
Previous experience in law enforcement, Firefighter or Security Officer in a Health Care Facility required.# #3.## #Training/Certification: CPR/First Aid preferred #4.## #Licensure: NY State Driver#s License. NY State Security Officer#s License required 5.## #Other:
Must have demonstrated strong leadership qualities. Ability to relate well to all types of people and act in a positive and supportive manner. Reacts in a flexible manner under unusual circumstances, which may alter normal routines. #Demonstrates good judgement and common sense.
