Role:Fire Life Safety Director
The primary mission of the Fire Life Safety Director is to protect life and property through the implementation of the building’s fire safety plan, including management of the Fire Command Station and supervision of the fire brigade, floor wardens, deputy floor wardens, and building evacuation supervisors.

The successful candidate will act as a liaison to the NYC Fire Department during emergencies.
Expected Skills and Competencies- Ensure all life safety systems and related equipment are fully functional.
- Ensure all floors have fire safety teams including Fire Wardens, Deputy Fire Wardens, and Building Evacuation Team members.
- Conduct fire alarm drills and maintain a written log of critiques to identify potential or actual weaknesses in response time or life safety systems.
- Provide clear direction, information, and assistance to client visitors, guests, vendors, and employees in a professional, pleasant, and courteous manner on a regular basis and during emergency situations.
- Assist the building security staff in visual inspection of visitor, vendor, and employee access badges/identification cards to verify authorized holders and prevent unauthorized access to the property.
- Maintain surveillance and report any suspicious persons and/or packages.
- Perform CPR/AED and basic first aid if required.
- Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet).
- Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift.
- Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties.
- Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
- Run as needed.
- Constant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping/fingering while using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other administrative tasks.
- Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co‑workers, view security monitors; includes hand/eye coordination.
- Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain, or heat.
- Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.
- Ability to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting; computer skills may be required.
- Read and understand all operating procedures and instructions.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation and a post‑offer/pre‑employment drug/alcohol test.
- Maintain current active status of all required licenses at all times, and carry the license while on duty.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Adapt well to ever‑changing environments and different situations.
- Intermediate computer skills to utilize innovative, wireless technology at client sites.
- Maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality.

- Read, understand, and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with public/co‑workers, giving and receiving instructions, using phones.
