Position Overview
The FBI is looking for Police Officers in Washington, D.C., New York, NY, and Clarksburg, WV, to serve a full‑time, permanent role (GS‑11). Applicants must be U.S. citizens; at least 21 years old; and willing to commit to a two‑year service agreement.
Job SummaryPolice Officers maintain order, respond to emergencies, protect people and property, enforce motor vehicle and criminal laws, and promote community relations. Officers conduct investigations, investigate traffic accidents, and provide security at federal sites nationwide.
Key Requirements- U.S. citizenship.
- Minimum age 21.
- Pass the Police Officer Selection System written test, panel interview, physical exam, and obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- Valid driver’s license and proficiency with firearms.
- Attend training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, GA, and complete a 2‑year service agreement.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain public safety and enforce laws.
- Respond to emergencies, inspect dangerous situations, and arrest suspects.
- Investigate traffic accidents and record fact‑based reports.
- Screen vehicles and personnel at federal facilities.
- Support national security by guarding sensitive information and responding to threat alerts.
Applicants must possess the competencies: communication, problem solving/judgement, conflict solving, public safety and security, and interpersonal ability. Specialized experience equivalent to GS‑10 (at least one year) in law‑enforcement or protective security duties is required.
