Security Officer - CHAM

Job Summary

Provides security and related assignments to ensure the safety of the Medical Center's patients, visitors and associates, prevents destructive acts to the Medical Center's property, performs related duties as required.

• Guard and secure designated entrances/exits to ensure that only patients, associates, and authorized visitors enter the facility.
• Respond to emergency/unusual situations in the facility, including fires, disturbances, disruptive patients or visitors, and other occurrences when assistance is requested or needed by the staff according to Montefiore procedures & policies.
• Check authorizations to remove medical center property from the facility.
• Safeguard facility, patient, and associate property according to Montefiore procedures & policies.
• Exercise constant vigilance in reference to patients, staff, and visitors within the facility.
• Receive complaints and suggestions from staff and communicate these responses to a supervisor.
• Perform ancillary support functions including but not limited to morgue operation, vehicular traffic control, off-hours receipt of packages, information desk duties, and transporting people or packages between Montefiore facilities.
• Perform all related duties as assigned by a security supervisor.

• GED or High School diploma.
• Completion of an NYS‑approved security guard training program and a current NYS security guard license required.
• CPR/AED Card is required.
• Valid NYS Class 4 Driver License is preferred.
• At least 3 years of security or military experience is preferred.
