The Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. This role leads the effort to efficiently and effectively provide end‑to‑end S&LP services across all assigned operational business units and reports to the SLP Cluster Manager.

• Identify vulnerabilities and conduct root cause analysis using data to define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Actively monitor and report outcomes for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities.
• Manage confidential investigations and prepare prompt reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents.
• Utilize continuous improvement to drive process enhancements and increase efficiency.
• Serve as the department’s liaison and security/crisis management subject matter expert, keeping site leadership informed on key issues, strategies and performance.
• Identify, promote and implement security best practices while partnering with internal customers to evaluate current and future security needs, processes, and initiatives, incident response planning, facilitating and management.
• Travel domestically regionally up to 50% of the time when applicable.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach; stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts; work in environments with variable noise levels, temperatures and weather; continuously climb and descend stairs (at sites with stairs).
• Work all shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays, as this role covers 24/7 operations.

Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) supports field Loss Prevention and is designed to support Amazon’s Worldwide Operations, affiliate and retail businesses by creating and maintaining a safe work environment. WWOS achieves this through policy and implementation guidelines, leadership and staff training, technology use, risk management, audit, and compliance reviews.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of relevant professional or military experience.
• 2+ years of security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement, or 2+ years of Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE) experience.

• Experience implementing metric‑based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts.
• Experience in physical security systems maintenance/implementation and coordinating scope of work with security vendors.
• 2+ years of operational experience in risk management, audit, data analytics, inventory control, quality assurance, retail, warehouse, distribution center services, delivery service, or supply chain.
• Investigative interviewing experience; relevant certifications such as Wicklander and Zulawski, Loss Prevention Qualified, Certified Protection Professional, Loss Prevention Certified, Certified Forensic Interviewer, Certified Threat Assessment Certification, or other.
• Workplace incident mitigation or de‑escalation and business continuity planning experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel pivot tables and chart/graphic development.

The base salary range for this position is USD 66,300.00–95,400.00 annually (USA, NY, Maspeth). In addition to salary, the package includes sign‑on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
