# Solutions Architect, Applied AIField

New York City On Site Full Time $180K - $260K - $300K - $1M Equity

US Visa and Green Card sponsorship available# About Amigo Amigo partners with healthcare organizations to deploy robust AI infrastructure that directly serves patients and providers. Our agents handle clinical workflows and patient engagement across the entire journey: pre-visit intake, care navigation, post-visit care plans, patient monitoring, and more.

We're fresh off our Series A backed by Tier 1 investors like Madrona, General Catalyst, and Optum Ventures. Our work is validated with leading academic medical institutions. Our agents have reached 3M+ patient encounters and are on track to 10x this year.# About this role

As a Solution Architect at Amigo, you'll own the technical integration layer between our AI agents and legacy health systems. You'll design and implement connections to EHRs like Epic, athenahealth, Oracle Health, Canvas, and Healthie, enabling agents to read patient data, write clinical notes, and execute actions within existing workflows.

This role bridges deep healthcare IT expertise with production engineering. You'll work directly with health system IT teams to navigate authentication, data formats, and compliance requirements while building integrations that our agents depend on for clinical operations.# What you'll do
* Design and implement EHR integrations (Epic, athenahealth, Oracle Health, Canvas, Healthie) for bidirectional data exchange
* Build FHIR-based APIs and HL7 interfaces that enable agents to access patient records and write clinical documentation
* Navigate health system IT environments: authentication (OAuth, SMART on FHIR), network configurations, and data access policies
* Build reliable data fetching pipelines that agents use to retrieve patient context during clinical workflows
* Design integration architectures that handle PHI securely and maintain audit trails
* Work directly with health system IT teams to scope, implement, and validate integrations
* Build monitoring and alerting for integration health, data freshness, and error rates
* Document integration patterns and create repeatable playbooks for new EHR deployments
* Collaborate with agent engineers to ensure integrations support clinical workflow requirements
* Contribute to compliance documentation for HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST certifications# What we're looking for
* 7+ years of experience with healthcare IT systems and EHR integrations in production environments
* Deep knowledge of FHIR, HL7v2, and healthcare interoperability standards gained through hands-on implementation
* Experience with Epic, athenahealth, or similar EHR platforms from an integration perspective - ideally at a company where EHR integration was core to the product's value proposition
* Strong Python skills including proper use of typing, and experience building highly reliable systems that interact with external APIs (schema design, retry strategies, error propagation)
* Understanding of healthcare authentication patterns (OAuth 2.0, SMART on FHIR, SAML)
* Experience working directly with health system IT teams on technical implementations
* Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements and PHI handling
* Both execution-oriented and defensive-minded: you ship integrations while anticipating failure modes
* Strong debugging skills for distributed systems spanning multiple organizations
* Clear communication across engineering, clinical, and customer IT stakeholders# Nice to have
* Experience with healthcare data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake) for analytics integrations
* Background with real-time streaming systems for clinical event processing
* Knowledge of CDS Hooks or clinical decision support integration patterns
* Experience with healthcare APIs beyond EHRs (labs, pharmacy, imaging)
* Familiarity with healthcare compliance certifications (HITRUST, SOC 2 for healthcare)
* Experience building integration monitoring and observability systems# Benefits (available to Full-Time Employees)## Health & Wellness
* Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
* Daily catered lunch and dinner
* Mental health support and wellness coaching
