Enterprise Security Consulting and Training Inc. is seeking a professional, reliable, and alert Overnight Security Officer to provide security coverage during the overnight shift. The officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, residents, staff, visitors, and property through patrol, observation, reporting, and professional presence.
Position Summary:
The Overnight Security Officer is responsible for detecting, deterring, and reporting suspicious activity, safety hazards, and security concerns during the assigned shift. This position requires strong observation skills, professionalism, dependability, and the ability to remain attentive throughout the entire shift. Duties may include interior and exterior patrols, access control, incident documentation, Daily Activity Reports, and communication with supervisors or emergency responders when needed.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible and professional security presence
- Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas
- Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, maintenance issues, and policy violations
- Complete accurate Daily Activity Reports and Incident Reports before end of shift
- Monitor entrances, exits, common areas, and other designated locations
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, client representatives, and emergency personnel when necessary
- Remain on post until properly relieved
- Follow all ESCT post orders, general orders, and reporting procedures at all times
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism on shift
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and dependable transportation
- Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the entire overnight shift
- Basic phone, computer, and report-writing skills
- Previous security, customer service, or related experience
- Experience completing Daily Activity Reports and Incident Reports
- Strong de-escalation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with patrol procedures, access control, and site documentation systems
- Experience using mobile reporting platforms
- Valid New York State Security Guard license required
- Current 8-Hour Pre-Assignment and 16-Hour On-the-Job Training certifications, if applicable
- Additional site-specific certifications may be required depending on assignment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to perform routine patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas
- Ability to climb stairs and navigate the site safely during overnight hours
- Ability to respond promptly to incidents and emergencies
- Ability to lift, carry, or move light equipment as needed
- Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions, depending on site assignment
