Position: Lead Security Guard with Security Clearance
Location: Fort Drum

Duties
* Independently manages pedestrian and vehicle access using electronic systems.
* Duties involve conducting random vehicle/cargo inspections , detaining violators, operating Active Vehicle Barriers, executing crowd control, securing the installation during emergencies, and coordinating with law enforcement during incidents.
* Serves as a first responder during critical incidents (e.g., active shooters, natural disasters).
* Executes installation closure plans during heightened Force Protection Conditions (FPCON) and participates in mandatory mobilization and scenario-based training exercises.
* Serves as Shift Leader assisting the Guard Shift Supervisor.
* Responsibilities include making daily guard assignments, providing on-the-job training, monitoring work quality, ensuring safe working conditions, resolving informal employee complaints, and reporting on personnel performance and training needs. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A Secret Security Clearance is required.
* Must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the NCIC terminals.
* IAW AR 190-56, requirements of Individual Reliability Program apply.
* IAW AR 600-85, a DA Form 5019 Condition of Employment must be assigned for mandatory drug testing.
* Shift work is required, or a change in work shift may be necessary. Hours of work encompass fluctuating tours of duty to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
* Overtime may be required as directed and is subject to recall for periods of emergency overtime.
* Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.
* Subject to the Lautenberg Amendment.
* Must undergo and pass annual medical exams of physical, emotional and mental stability. Standard for medical exams are prescribed in AR 190-56 "The Army Civilian Police and Security Guard Program". There is a lifting requirement of 45 pounds.
* Must successfully complete security guard training.
* Must be trained and maintain current required certifications in CPR techniques and must know first aid.
* May be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton.
* Will be required to maintain physical conditioning and pass an annual physical agility test (PAT).
* Must be fully qualified to operate a government vehicle. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license. Loss of license may result in removal from the position.
* Must wear the Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) uniform IAW AR 190-56, maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene.
* Must obtain and maintain applicable certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors.
* Must not have any medical condition that precludes the wearing of a chemical protective mask and over garments.
* Employee must be able to perform as a member of the installation's overall security response capability.
* The duties and training required require for the employee to carry and deploy a riot baton, carry a protective shield and employ non-lethal am munitions if necessary.
