Security Guard

Overview

Foot Locker is looking for Security Guards to join our team. Reporting to the Team Leader, Lead Detective, and Store Detective, incumbent will be responsible for securing the Foot Locker store located on the Midtown Manhattan Locations.

Artificial intelligence is not used for the process of screening, assessing, or selecting applicants.

• Supports a positive customer shopping experience and maintains a strong store partnership with store teams and Loss Prevention.
• Executes security services as outlined in post orders and directed by Security leads.
• Maintains a strong presence on the sales floor and/or front door with courteous and professional interactions with clients.
• Provides an effective deterrent to theft through customer engagement and a professional and knowledgeable presence.
• Monitors store entrance/exit responding to the EAS system in a friendly customer service approach.
• Exhibits excellent communication skills and sound judgment.
• Signs in employees/vendors and verifies any Foot Locker merchandise; signs out employees/vendors and verifies all Foot Locker merchandise and verifies purchases against the employee's receipt.
• Stands in a professional position for up to an entire shift.
• Acts as a customer‑friendly visual deterrent to crime.
• Observes and reports suspicious activities and persons on property.
• Writes detailed narrative reports and maintains daily incident reports.
• Communicates shrink‑related concerns to Store Management and Loss Prevention.
• Maintains an effective partnership with Store Management and Loss Prevention to accomplish work assignments and overall goals and objectives.
• Promotes a culture of honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Requires a valid NY State security guard license (may be in the process of obtaining).
• Professional image and attitude with a strong security presence.
• Good communication skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities.
• Values and exhibits the highest level of personal integrity.
• Punctual, reliable, and able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Maintains current active status for the license and stays current with all NYC DOJ training and requirements as a condition of continued employment.

Rate of Pay: $18.00 / hour
