Position Overview

Title: Security Officer Licensed Screening Patrol Location: Long Island City, NY Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $18.87 per hour Schedule: Day Time Tue 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM, Wed 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

What You’ll Do

Provide customer service to residents, guests, and/or staff by carrying out assigned security‑related procedures, location‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and/or supervisors.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the residential location, including common areas, entrances, exits, hallways, and perimeter areas, to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor access to the location by observing arrivals and departures, verifying authorized entry when required, and documenting security‑related incidents, observations, and/or daily activities.
Support a respectful residential environment by addressing policy‑related concerns, reporting maintenance or environmental issues that may affect operations, and assisting with security‑related requests as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements

Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
Be 21+ years of age.
X‑Ray screening experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants will be subject to a background investigation per federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories consistent with applicable laws.
Applicants will be subjected to a drug screen as permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
