Security Supervisor
Security Supervisor is a first line supervisor responsible for the supervision, training, and direction of Security Officers. A Security Supervisor will assume the duties and responsibilities of a Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, or Captain during the Director of Operations absence. These duties are outlined below.
Duties & Responsibilities- Train security employees in all aspects of the facility.
- Monitor access control, and ensure effective use of the magnetometer and x‑ray machine.
- Make rounds throughout the facility and external premises to prevent, detect, deter, and report hazardous situations, trespassers, and illegal activities.
- Respond to emergencies in person throughout the building, and provide guidance and support to line staff and subordinates.
- Complete daily security reports.
- Conduct daily security and fire safety system inspections.
- Ensure guards complete Daily Activity Reports (DARs).
- Adjust staff schedules due to sick calls and unexpected staff shortages.
- Conduct roll calls.
- Maintain safety and security of clients and staff.
- Provide crisis intervention when needed.
- Assist operations manager in preparing and executing fire drills.
- Review log book entries, incident reports, and critical administrative responsibilities on assigned shift, checking for errors and ensuring accuracy.
- Attend and conduct various meetings and trainings as needed.
- Check inventory of all assigned equipment daily, and investigate any discrepancies.
- Perform all related duties as assigned.
- Receive complaints and make needed investigations.
- Note conditions significant from a security standpoint and take appropriate action to assure that persons and property are safeguarded and good order is maintained and that security services are doing their work properly.
- Learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and computerized information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
- Must have NYS Security Guard License and current 8‑hour annual certificate (must have upon hire).
- F02 Certificate of Fitness – Fire Guard for Shelters.
- CPR/AED/First Aid (must have upon hire).
- Narcan trained preferred (must have within 30 days of employment).
- Working smartphone (must have upon hire).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior security experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
- Certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI).
- Client sensitivity trained.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts, weekends and overtime if necessary.

Salary: $26.97–$28.07. This is a prevailing wage job. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the prevailing wage base rate.
