Job SummaryThe Security Operations Center Specialist is responsible for the daily operation of all physical security efforts, monitoring and responding appropriately to security systems and technology, and communicating effectively with internal customers and colleagues. This position works closely with Operations and Branch leaders to proactively address security gaps and issues related to interdepartmental logistics.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and respond appropriately to a variety of alarm signals, ensuring timely and accurate response with particular attention to general procedures and special instructions.
- Communicate effectively with internal customers.
- Follow all departmental and company policies and procedures.
- Complete required equipment checks, daily logs, and regular system audits.
- Answer multiple telephone lines, providing professional and helpful assistance, troubleshooting, transferring calls, and following up to ensure expectations are met.
- Provide technical support as needed and follow procedures for service and inspection requests.
- Communicate and analyze inquiries to determine a correct course of action.
- Maintain facility security and operations by following company policies to provide a safe and productive environment.
- Assist other departments with special projects to support a teamwork atmosphere for the benefit of customers and the company.
- Participate in job-related training programs and meetings to continually refresh and update knowledge.
- Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a security setting.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft 365 software.
- Ability to make independent decisions.
- A valid weapons permit or ability to pass applicable weapons licensing requirements.
- Minimum 21 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with a wide range of hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency with internal Brink’s proprietary/commercial business software packages such as BITS and Garcia.
- Knowledge of tactical security operations.
- Knowledge of the logistics industry, its operations, products, services, policies, and procedures.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience drafting Standard Operating Procedures and/or Standards of Work documentation.
