Security Officer

We are currently seeking an experienced individual with high integrity and professionalism who can join our team as an Incident Commander. You will be working on uniquely assigned projects under the guidance of the Shift Supervisors and Area Managers for our top clients.

The Incident Commander will act as a liaison between Surefox and its clients while providing emergency response. Duties are performed in accordance with client policies and procedures, and all state and federal regulations.

• Develop relationships with clients, facilitate collaboration, and influence informally across different departments within the team.
• Act as an Incident Commander for emergencies and response.
• Provide discreet lobby security during business operations.
• Perform data entry, assist employees, provide general information and direction, parcel delivery, lost and found, guest check‑in, and badging requests for temporary employees, vendors, and contractors.
• Track and report on program performance assurance and compliance requirements within the provided guidelines.
• Perform routine security patrols of designated areas on foot while monitoring access.
• Watch for unusual activity and respond immediately and safely to emergency situations on site.
• Contact the police or fire department when an emergency occurs.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Provide assistance to employees and create a safe and friendly environment for visitors and clients in a professional manner.
• Attend project meetings upon request to assess the security implications of proposed changes.
• Monitor camera systems and conduct reviews as requested.
• Operate access control and badging systems.
• Work independently and adapt to various work‑paces while maintaining a high level of attentiveness and energy.
• Be able to lift and move objects up to 25 lbs as needed.

• Eligible for employment within the United States.
• Minimum age of 18 years per state licensing guidelines.
• Pass an extensive background check and drug screening.
• Live within driving distance or be willing to relocate.
• Hold a current NY Security Guard License.
• Hold CPR and First Aid/AED certification.
• Holds a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies.
• Effective communication skills with people at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.
• Good judgment and ability to make timely and sound decisions.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Pass the Surefox Physical Agility Test (SPAT) with or without reasonable accommodation. The SPAT includes a timed sequence of multiple physical events, including the ability to drag an 180 lb training dummy 40 yards.
• Fully vaccinated status related to COVID‑19 as defined by the CDC by anticipated start date and ability to provide proof upon request.

• Security or law enforcement related experience.
• Knowledge of Avigilon and Envy systems.
• Military background.
• CPR and First Aid training.
• Dispatch and/or GSOC experience.
• Report writing experience.

Location:

New York (Office, Monday‑Friday business hours). Pay Rate:
Starting $28.75 per hour, 60 days $29.75 per hour, 90 days $30.00 per hour. An on‑call part‑time officer fills in when needed.
