Position: Fire Life Safety Director
Location: New York

IPS is currently seeking a Fire Life Safety Director (FLSD) for Full Time and Part Time positions.

Location

Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Salary

$27.00 an hour during the initial 90-day probationary period, increasing to $28.00 an hour upon successful completion of the probation period.

Must have open availability any day for all shifts:
Mornings, Afternoons and Overnights.

Requirements
  • Valid FDNY Fire and Life Safety Director Certificate of Fitness (F-89, T-89, or Z-89 Certificate of Completion) issued by the New York City Fire Department.
  • Valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and emergency procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and lead during emergency situations.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and operate the Fire Command Center and building fire alarm systems.
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and safety incidents.
  • Implement and maintain the building’s Fire Safety and Emergency Action Plan.
  • Coordinate emergency responses with the New York City Fire Department and other first responders.
  • Conduct fire drills and safety training for staff and tenants.
  • Maintain accurate incident reports and inspection logs.
  • Ensure compliance with NYC fire safety codes and regulations.
  • Perform routine inspections of fire safety systems and equipment.
