In this role, the Security Officer will provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and employees. The Security Officer will perform all duties assigned consistent with New York Methodist Hospital's commitment to providing quality health care services in a compassionate and humane manner.
Shift DetailsThis is a full-time day shift position 7:00am-3:00pm, including holidays and rotating weekends located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
Preferred Criteria- One year security experience within a hospital or related medical setting.
- Valid driver's license.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 8 & 16 Hour Security Courses.
- NYS Security License.
- Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 90 days of starting in role and continued BCLS certification required every two years.
- Must be able to write and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and visitors.
- Writing legibility and clarity.
- Basic computer literacy.
Please note that all roles require on‑site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
Salary$23.42-$24.05/Hourly
