Position Overview
Apollo Global Management appoints a senior security professional to oversee executive protection and the implementation of Global Safety & Security programs across all 29 AGMs global locations. The role reports to the Global Head of Security and focuses on physical security, workplace safety, vendor management, systems evaluation, crisis management and business resilience initiatives.
Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the development of the physical security infrastructure, including access control platforms and CCTV.
- Collaborate with security integrators to design and implement security systems.
- Partner with IT, Facilities and other functional areas to upgrade, monitor, and integrate security infrastructure.
- Design critical security infrastructure for construction projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Manage vendor expenses and conduct budget analysis for construction and security operations.
- Attend weekly project meetings and coordinate with cross‑functional teams as needed.
- Develop, implement, and update physical security policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Analyze security operations to identify risks or improvement opportunities; investigate and resolve security breaches or incidents.
- Lead executive protection operations for senior leadership, ensuring safety during travel, public appearances, and daily activities.
- Conduct threat assessments and route planning for executive movements, coordinating with external agencies and law enforcement when necessary.
- Develop and maintain executive protection protocols, including emergency response procedures and contingency plans.
- Oversee vetting and training of executive protection personnel to meet firm standards.
- Coordinate logistics and security arrangements for high‑profile events, board meetings, and off‑site engagements involving executives.
- Monitor intelligence feeds and global risk indicators to proactively adjust executive protection strategies.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional handling of sensitive information related to executive movements and security concerns.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align executive protection with broader physical and cyber security initiatives.
- Ensure efficient monitoring and maintenance of access control systems and CCTV.
- Manage the 24/7/365 global security operations center located in Mumbai.
- Stay informed about the latest security technologies, trends, and regulatory requirements, and recommend program enhancements.
- Investigate security breaches, incidents, and violations, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop universal emergency action plans for all locations.
- Maintain quarterly updates of warden listings.
- Drive strategic initiatives related to physical security, including policy development and partnership with Cyber Security and Internal Audit.
- Administer security‑related administrative tasks.
- Assist Human Capital & Legal with investigations and sensitive matters.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum eight (8+) years of security experience.
- Prior experience in a corporate, in‑office environment with executive‑level protocol expertise.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and rigorous work environment and to prioritize competing demands.
- Strong diplomacy and tact, maintaining confidentiality when required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Required to travel as needed and work outside normal business hours and weekends as required.
- Armed guard or security guard license strongly preferred.
- Eligibility to be considered if qualifications and experience meet role requirements, notwithstanding the standard qualifications.
Apollo provides a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees and their families. Contact the Human Capital Business Partner for detailed information. Pay range for this position is $140,000 – $205,000, with eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus based on firm performance.
