That’s why our team is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager in Workplace Security
As a Manager in Workplace Security, you’ll manage the day-to-day operations of physical security incident response for Capital One’s New York City Flat Iron campus, Commercial banking HQ in Midtown, NYC and other satellite corporate offices across the North East. You will support the senior manager as a safety and security point of contact, providing advice and solutions that mitigate physical and safety risks for Capital One.
The ideal candidate should:
Help build customer solutions, appropriately challenge business decisions and consider multiple options/perspectives to mitigate issues
Learn how to navigate the organization, anticipate and address concerns with fact-based options
Create lift for their team by applying and sharing their expertise
Manage through ambiguity, keep an open mind when considering perspectives, and escalate effectively
Be open to creative solutions, consider downstream impacts and use data to solve issues
Manage work to deliver results while prioritizing business critical work and keeping management informed appropriately
Look for opportunities to help others be successful, recognize others and support a highly-effective team and values-based culture
Have a passion for safety and security and how it influences culture and the environment
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence
Strong team player with a demonstrated track record and history in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and solving problems.
Advance customer (internal/external) interfacing, problem-solving and relationship skills required.
Proven track record to manage security teams, vendors, and contractors, with expertise in security systems, incident response, and risk management
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to engage to communicate effectively with senior leadership, site managers, and external partners
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of leading emerging security challenges
Familiarity with security technologies, including surveillance, access control, and alarm systems
Project & Program Management
Incident or crisis management experience, including coordinating with emergency services and law enforcement
Ability to successfully plan and organize security programs to enhance safety for our workplace
Ability to respond to and handle security incidents across area of responsibility
Collaborate with the Director of Workplace Security to set objectives and lead security operations at regional sites
Build relationships with executives, site leaders, and cross-functional teams to influence compliance and improve security programs
Act as liaison between security and local teams to align on site and security objectives
Conduct security risk assessments and audits at regional locations and address vulnerabilities
Manage the budget, security vendors, and approve invoices and expenses within your area of responsibility
Investigate policy violations, misconduct, and criminal activity
Relationship & Partnership Management
